Hill Osborne is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Norman as a director of the firm. Sue will remain at the company’s Wimborne office at Beaufort House, Cornmarket Court, where she has been employed as office manager since 2014.
Originally starting her career as a trainee management accountant, Sue qualified as a certified accountant in 2002; the same year she had her daughter. After taking a few months off, Sue resumed her career on a part-time basis at Peter Biggs Accountants in Wimborne. In 2005, she welcomed twin boys, and eventually continued to work part-time, gradually increasing her hours as her children got older. After Peter Biggs’ untimely death in December 2014, Hill Osborne, having been named alternate beneficiary, looked after the running of his business until April 2015 when the firm decided to acquire the practice.
As a director, Sue will continue to manage the Wimborne office’s five staff who carry out all general accounting services, including; book-keeping, VAT, payroll, tax returns, start-up business, sole trader, partnership, and limited company accounts.
In her spare time, Sue is kept busy running her three children around to their various sporting events and clubs, including Poole Athletics Club where she is a volunteer, assisting with competitions and travelling with the teams. In a bid to keep fit herself, Sue takes part in the ‘Park Run,’ and she and her partner have now challenged themselves to compete in the 10km Rough Runners Course in May. Sue also enjoys walking, swimming, trips to the cinema, and would like to do more travelling in the future.
Sue, commented: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my role managing our team here in Wimborne, and am delighted to have been made a director at Hill Osborne. It’s a very friendly office and the open plan design has meant there’s a great rapport between us all, and especially with our clients, who we all get to know very well. It’s incredibly important for us to look after and nurture our clients, and build strong working relationships.”
James Hill, director, Hill Osborne, said: “Sue has been instrumental to the success of our Wimborne office which has continued to grow since we acquired it in 2015. We are thrilled to appoint Sue as a director of the firm to build on our success to date; she is perfectly placed to continue to expand our presence in Wimborne and the surrounding areas.”
